What are Manage Global Applicant Referrals?
Administration > Manage Global Applicant Referrals
This administrative setting enables individuals to refer (nominate) applicants to be approved to apply to a specific application form. Once an applicant is referred, the Administrator can monitor the referral process to see the date/time the referral occurred and Approve or Decline the referrals.
Note: This is not an automatic functionality and will need to be activated in your Administration > Manage Site Settings > Referral Settings. Once activated, this functionality is available for all application forms and cannot be set for just one application.
Prior to using this feature, adjust the email template in the Notification Center for all your application forms so that it fits the message you want your applicants to receive according to the process you will be using. The email template is Application: Referral Invitation. When updating the template, do not remove the Click Here {Application Invitation URL} link or the {EmailID} merge fields from the email template as those fields are necessary for the applicant to have the proper access.
If you wish to remove the password, be sure to provide instructions in the email to the applicant on how to retrieve an unknown password using the "Forgot Password" link so that they can reset their password and login using the new password.
If requiring that only applicants that have been referred are eligible to apply to a specific application form, it is best practice to make this application a "private" application by marking the fund in the fund setup as not published. Then only applicants that have been an approved referral will be able to access this application and apply for it. All other applicants will not have access to apply.
