Question Type - Text
Home > (Select - Application Name) > Application Settings > Sections and Questions > (Select - Section Name) > Select - Add Question
This is a short data entry text field. The Text question type is used when a brief text and/or numeric value is required (i.e., entering a street address such as 1234 Jones Street, or requesting the applicant's last name). When you select the Text question type, the Maximum Length field will display.
Maximum Length: When using the Text question type, you can control the length of text entered by setting the maximum length allotted, (i.e., Maximum Length=15, will only allow the applicant to type 15 characters). If you do not want to limit the length, leave this field blank. However, if you do not want the applicant to enter a large amount of data in this field, it would be best to add a maximum limit.
Note: You cannot run numeric calculations on text fields.
