Question Type – Numeric
Home > (Select - Application Name) > Application Settings > Sections and Questions > (Select - Section Name) > Select - Add Question
This question type is best for using arithmetic calculations for exact results. Numeric fields display in the application as left-aligned. The only separator characters allowed in numeric question types are decimals.
When using the Numeric question type you have the option to control the length of the reply value as well as the number range that the value falls between.
When you select the Numeric question type the Maximum Length, Min Value, and Max Value fields will display. If you do not require any of these, you can leave them blank. The system will default to allow for a maximum length of characters and a value of.
Min Value - This allows you to set the minimum (lowest) numeric range amount that will be allowed when replying to this question, (i.e., you require a year between 2000 and 2015. This min value = 2000.)
Max Value - This allows you to set the maximum (highest) numeric range amount that will be allowed when replying to this question, (i.e., you require a year between 2000 and 2015. The max value = 2015.)
Maximum Length - Sets the number of numeric characters allowed when replying to this question, (i.e., 4.00 = Max. length of 4 characters. The Applicant will not be able to enter a numeric value longer than 4 characters including the decimal.) If you enter a Maximum Length you will also need to add a max value. If you do not add a max value the system will default to a maximum value of?
Note: If you enter a maximum length higher than X, you must then enter a max value. Otherwise, the system will default to the value of X and not allow a figure higher than that amount. Numbers entered as min and max must be whole numbers as decimal figures are not allowed in creating limits.
