Create a Custom Template in the Global Notification Center

Custom email templates allow administrators to create templates for specific applications that apply to the organization’s application process. Custom templates are useful when:
- You periodically send emails to users that you would like to create for your application process.
- You have multiple request sections in your application and therefore need separate email templates for each section.
Note: If creating a custom template that applies to multiple applications, you will need to select each separate application and create the template separately in each.
To create a custom template:
1) Click the Select an Application field and click an application name to select it.
2) Click the Create Template button.
The page displayed is the same as the Edit page. However, because you are creating a new template you will be able to change the Template Type (Custom/System) and edit the Template Name.
Additional Notes
The Template Type will default to Custom and this option should remain selected. Only custom templates can be created System emails must be created by a Community Force developer and are hardcoded to a specific area within the application.
Add New Template will be selected in the Copy an Existing Template or Create a New field and this should remain selected.
Once you have defined the new custom template you can click the Preview button to display an example of how the email will appear once it is sent. Note, the merge fields will not be populated when previewing.
Click Save to create the new custom template. Click Cancel to abandon any changes and return to the Notification Center listings page.
